SPOT Creative Workshops
Organised by SPOT Design Market join your hosts, Concrete Nature, Slow Stitch Studio and Steph Liddle Ceramics on Saturday 22nd April at Civic House for one workshop, or the whole day and participate in 2 workshops. Supported by Creative Scotland.
The workshops are suitable for ages 18+ and all stages of learning and experience.

Full Price Tickets will be on sale from 22nd March until 21st April
Low Income or Receiving Benefits Tickets will be on sale throughout, however please note there is only a small number available so please consider your circumstances before booking.

Workshops:
Concrete Nature will host ‘Print: Pattern + Paper, Collage + Bookbinding’ (10am – 12.30pm)
Join Clementine from Concrete Nature to explore her fascinating world of paper, colour and pattern through collage and bookbinding. You will learn to make your own notebook and create a series of prompted collages inspired by Civic House’s wonderfully contrasting surroundings. She’ll guide and educate, talk about the history of print and paper and leave you with your mind feeling full!
Slow Stitch Studio will host ‘Textiles: Patchwork Quilting, Structure + Organic Shapes in Fabric’ (10am – 12.30pm)
Join Eva from Slow Stitch Studio to play with beautiful scraps of fabric and stitch your own small quilt to display on your wall or develop further into something larger. Eva will talk you through techniques of patchwork and stitches to use. You’ll gather ideas and develop your designs all under the gaze of her knowledge and expertise. She’ll guide and educate, talk about the history of quilting and leave you with your mind feeling full!
Steph Liddle will host ‘Ceramics: Surface Pattern + Illustration on Cast Ceramics’ (1.30pm – 4pm)
Join Steph Liddle to gather inspiration from the wonderful architecture and nature surrounding Civic House, learn how Steph slip casts her pottery and work on your own surface and pattern designs to decorate your ceramic piece. She’ll guide and educate, discuss her clay process and leave you with your mind feeling full!
No ceramic experience is necessary – Steph will be providing pre-made ceramic forms for you to work on, but anyone working in clay is welcome to bring their own greenware or bisque fired work.
