Nights at Parveen’s – June 7th

We’re back with another Nights at Parveen’s on 7th June! Join us from 6pm at Civic House. We have such an exciting line up of South Asian + SWANA DJ’s who are making waves across the scene. Once again in collab with the legends at Radio Buena Vida who will be broadcasting the night live on air.

We will also be serving up Pakistani style kebabs + party snacks to keep u dancing through the evening.

Headlining the night is Mera Bhai, a producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist best known as founding member of Psych band Flamingods & part of Asian Underground collective Daytimers. Hard to pin down, Mera Bhai takes his influence from Indian Carnatic to Tropicalia and 70s Disco, with a heavy dose of 80s/90s Acid House, Detroit techno and breaks on top.

How Bizarre چقدر عجیب is a Glasgow Southside-based Radio Buena Vida resident and vintage rug emporium. Selections reflect her musical curiosity, drawing from traditional rug origins and her Iranian heritage. Think shoulder shakers and exotic textures from across the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Africa, and beyond.

Joumana جُمَانة, another local dj brings a fresh selection of Southwest Asian funk and disco to the canteen for the second time. Expect lots of groovey percussion and tabla!
