Designed for people in recovery, these sessions offer a welcoming, no-pressure introduction to DJing. If you’ve been loving the Good Clean Fun parties and ever found yourself wondering how the DJs do it, this workshop is your chance to find out.
Whether you’re curious about the basics, ready to try mixing tracks yourself, or interested in learning how the industry works, this is your opportunity to step behind the decks and see what it’s all about. On completion of the workshop series, each person will be offered a chance to play an opening set at a Good Clean Fun party!
Here’s who you’ll be learning from: JG Wilkes: As one half of the legendary Optimo duo, JG Wilkes has been a pivotal figure in Glasgow’s electronic music scene, known for his eclectic and innovative sets that blend genres seamlessly.
Hot Towel: A dynamic DJ duo comprised of Sean Murchie and Lewis Watson, Hot Towel is celebrated for their breezy, effervescent music that evokes paradisal sunshine, bringing a unique and imaginative take on Balearic-inspired sounds.
Rebecca Vasmant: A prominent figure in Scotland’s jazz and electronic scenes, Rebecca Vasmant is renowned for her deep knowledge of music and her ability to craft immersive, soulful DJ sets that resonate with listeners.
Queer History of Dance Music (Amy Rodgers & Duncan McBride): This dynamic DJ duo, known for their club nights and long-running radio show, brings a deep appreciation for the evolution of dance music, delivering sets that are both educational and electrifying.
Bizzy (Desert Storm, Soma, Made in Glasgow Recordings): A veteran producer and DJ, Bizzy co-founded the influential Desert Storm sound system and has released seminal tracks on Soma Records. With a rich history in Glasgow’s underground scene, he brings a wealth of experience in music production and a passion for innovative soundscapes.
On completion of the workshop series, each person will be offered a chance to play an opening set at a Good Clean Fun party!
