The so-called digital revolution has had a major impact on the African creative industries, not only in terms of production, but also on the exhibition and dissemination of art and other creative products. This year we have created a free Africa in Motion Digital Hub at Civic House in Glasgow, to celebrate and explore the power of the digital in the creative industries in Africa.

The hub will consist of an African video games exhibition, titled Game On, Africa! (https://www.africa-in-motion.org.uk/festival/glasgow/event/340), a VR lounge screening Virtual Reality Short Films: Africa in Motion, evening screenings of films with themes and narratives linked to digital media, and discussions on these topics. Please see daily listings for further information on the different activities and events presented in the hub.

On Friday 1st November at 6pm, the Africa in Motion Digital Hub will officially launch with a wine reception, followed by screenings of short films exploring the obsession with digital media, at 8pm.

This event is part of the 14th edition of Africa in Motion (AiM) film festival, happening in Scotland from 25 October – 3 November 2019. Find the programme at: www.africa-in-motion.org.uk

In order to make AiM more accessible, we have implemented a sliding scale ticket price for our events where possible. Find out more here: https://www.africa-in-motion.org.uk/about/sliding-scale
