This Image License Has Expired is an exhibition of new work by Michael White (b.1987).

Using a variety of applied print and collage, this collaboratively produced body of work vainly serves to articulate a sense of ideological embattlement.

Through the manipulation of stock imagery and a layering of seemingly disparate, erratically conflated themes, this body of work is designed to function as a metaphor for the inherently problematic mess of meaning that emerges when the confluence of popular culture, lifestyle, politics and collective consciousness are explored by any means.

Michael White lives and works in Glasgow.

Recent exhibitions include ‘Plus Jamais Suel’ – Standard Expositions, Rennes (2013) Celluloid Brushes: An Anthology of the Filmic Perception of the Artist from 1267 till today – Ludlow 38, New York (2013), A Hoop – Netil House, London (2013), Unspecific Objects – The Royal Standard, Liverpool (2013), New Myths, Modern Man – Intermedia, Glasgow (2012).
