Hello Agile City Community!
We’ve had a jam packed couple months here at Agile City Campus. From workshops and exhibitions to welcoming fantastic new resident organisations, the energy across our spaces has been incredible.

Opportunity – Community Coordinator
Agile City CIC is delighted to announce an exciting new opportunity for a Community Coordinator to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Our ambition is to foster a thriving community of members who utilise our co-working and studio spaces, ensuring a hospitable atmosphere for all clients and guests. The Community Coordinator is at the heart of this experience, responsible for both building meaningful connections between members and leading how we tell our story, communicate our impact, and share content about our services and activities.
This role is aimed at early to mid-career applicant seeking to expand their skills within the cultural and events sector.

In Your Face: An Exhibition by Steven A Hart
Monday 31st August – Thursday 3rd September, 12pm – 5pm daily
Glue Factory, 22 Farnell Street, Glasgow, G4 9SE
Steven A Hart is hosting In Your Face at the Glue Factory over the course of 5 days, with a special live charity auction taking place on Tuesday 1st September.
The live charity auction will include framed original artworks and framed signed prints of Doddie Weir (Scottish Rugby), Jimmy Johnstone (Celtic FC) and Fernando Ricksen (Rangers FC), with all sales proceeds going to MND Scotland and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. There will also be signed prints of these artworks available to buy for both charities. The evening runs from 6pm – 9pm and there will be live music, catering, and drinks provided.

The Creative Balance Wellbeing Festival
Sunday 13th September, 11am-6pm
Civic House, 26 Civic Street, Glasgow, G4 9RH
For the past year, Creative Balance has been engaging with racialised creatives across Scotland to explore their wellbeing, their struggles, and what meaningful care looks like when mainstream frameworks fall short. On 1st September, the organisation will officially publish its Phase 1 research findings gathered from these vital conversations.
To celebrate the findings and mark the start of Phase 2, a festival will take place at Civic House! The event invites attendees to reflect on the research and help shape what comes next through immersive workshops, moving performances, shared food, and vital discussions on future possibilities.
Tickets operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, alongside a travel contribution fund to assist with transport costs.

Doors Open Day Festival
Thursday 17th September, 11am – 3pm
Glue Factory, 22 Farnell Street, Glasgow, G4 9SE
Discover the transformation of the Glue Factory from a private industrial site into a vibrant cultural hub during an open drop-in event hosted by Agile City. Visitors are welcome to pop in anytime throughout 11am-3pm to explore the historic building.
These walkthroughs will uncover the architectural and social history of the Glue Factory, detail its modern redevelopment into a long-lease studio complex, and explain Agile City’s broader mission to establish a living lab of energy and ideas aimed at driving Scotland’s journey toward net zero.
Alongside the tours, the Glue Factory’s resident creative community will open their private doors to the public for the entire day. You can step inside creative hubs like M.A.R.S, Cue Props, and RISOTTO to meet the artists, designers, printmakers, fabricators, and prop makers who call the space home.

Agile City x pop-up mobility hub
August – October
26 Civic Street, Glasgow, G4 9RH
Glasgow’s pop-up mobility hub will be at Agile City for 6-8 weeks and is part of a project to help people walk, wheel or cycle more for local journeys.
Thanks to CoMoUK, you can visit Civic Street and use the mobility hub for bike parking, hiring bikes from Voi, a public bike repair kit and pump, among various free community activities.
Bring your bike along to the hub on 2nd and 21st September for a free Dr Bike check-up from SPYF on Bikes. Includes minor repairs such as brake adjustment or punctures. First-come, first-served, adults’ and kids’ bikes welcome.

Glasgow Climate Action Hub
The Glasgow Climate Action Hub held a networking event and lunch for their members on the 11th of September. Get Glasgow Moving came along to develop their better Busses for Strathclyde Campaign and Circular Communities Scotland presented the Repair Café model alongside the Repair Café Glasgow to demonstrate how more community groups could organise their own events.

Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival: Moving Minds
Moving Minds returned to Civic House for a free family day hosted by the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, which took place as part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival at the Commonwealth Games.
This year’s theme was Reflections: an invitation to pause, slow down, and explore how creativity shapes mental health.
The programme featured storytelling from Sam Rowe of the Village Storytelling Centre, a live solo set from Brownbear, and dance performances in classical styles Kathak and Bharatanatyam from Theiya Arts, who also led a mandala-making workshop. Artist Finni Porter Chambers led a family-friendly creative workshop using natural materials, while for the wee ones there were games, dancing, face painting, and glitter tattoos. An exhibition, creative activities, and a quiet sensory space were open throughout the day, and award-winning community choir SoundSational closed out the afternoon.

A Vivid Confluence: Tiânn
In early August, Civic House hosted a site-responsive exhibition and performance curated by Franzine (Yen-Ju) Chen.
Reimagining Tiânn – a Taiwanese Hokkien concept traditionally referring to the space between home, community, and ritual – the exhibition explores how this vernacular idea can be transformed into a transnational framework for contemporary curatorial practice.
Featuring works by Amara Karapas, with contributions from Betram Huang, Rho McGuire, and Hsu Yuan-Cheng, the exhibition brings together diverse artistic practices that respond to place, materiality, sound, and the body. Together, these works invite visitors to reconsider memory, ecology, colonial histories, and cross-cultural dialogue through embodied and spatial experience.
