A Vivid Confluence: Tiânn
Monday 3rd August – Tuesday 4th August
Civic House, 26 Civic Street, Glasgow, G4 9RH
A site-responsive exhibition and performance curated by Franzine (Yen-Ju) Chen.
Reimagining Tiânn – a Taiwanese Hokkien concept traditionally referring to the space between home, community, and ritual – the exhibition explores how this vernacular idea can be transformed into a transnational framework for contemporary curatorial practice.
Featuring works by Amara Karapas, with contributions from Betram Huang, Rho McGuire, and Hsu Yuan-Cheng, the exhibition brings together diverse artistic practices that respond to place, materiality, sound, and the body. Together, these works invite visitors to reconsider memory, ecology, colonial histories, and cross-cultural dialogue through embodied and spatial experience.
Reserve your free ticket and check out their Instagram!

Events Recap:

A Day on Civic Street: Another People Place
The highly anticipated summer block party on Civic Street was an absolute triumph, bringing the community together for an unforgettable day and night of celebration.
The festivities kicked off outdoors in the sunshine within the newly renovated green space opposite Civic House, welcoming a vibrant crowd with free, unticketed entry all afternoon and into the evening. Attendees basked in the warm weather while enjoying incredible live music. Colombian Bites Glasgow kept everyone fueled with delicious food, our own team provided refeshing homemade sodas, and Plant Up CIC hosted a banner pressing session in the green space.
The energy shifted indoors to Civic House for the highly anticipated nighttime Another People Place. The venue was primed for a serious party, featuring a powerful, full soundsystem rig that vibrated through the crowd. Special guest OG, visiting from London’s Club Cheek and Cheeky Soundsystem, delivered an impeccable set of underground vibes alongside the brilliant local hosts, keeping the packed dancefloor moving late into the night.
Keep up to date on upcoming gigs by visiting Another People Place and getting yourself on their mailing list!

Creative Glasgow Member Meet Up: Civic House Tour
For their monthly ‘Last Thursday’ get-together, Creative Glasgow teamed up with us here at Agile City!
On 30th July, we opened our doors to the members of Creative Glasgow to take an exclusive peek inside our two buildings, Civic House and the Glue Factory. At Civic House, we toured the Venue and Canteen space, then headed upstairs to see our unique Coworking space and speak to Georgina from Loco Home Retrofit CIC, a long-standing member at Civic House.
Then, we headed outside to see the newly renovated community green space, and discuss plans for Civic Street. Keep an eye out on our social media for further announcements!
Finally, we headed over to the Glue Factory for a tour, and spoke to Merlin, the Director of Cue Props. As a lovely bonus, we will also handed out free coworking day pass trials to everyone who attended. We hope to see some familiar faces back in our space soon!
A special thanks to Creative Glasgow for teaming up with us. You can find out more about them on their website and socials.
