Gomo Kimchi Workshop – Plant-Based Korean Cooking
Written by Eddie Kim, owner of Gomo Kimchi.
A common question I get is “What’s not vegan about kimchi?” Namely, in our case, it’s fish sauce.
Although I’m an unconscionable meat eater, @wakeupmegeh is not, and as we started the journey of Gomo Kimchi, I worked to develop a plant-based menu for her.
Traditional Korean food lends itself to a plant-based diet without significant tweaking. Still, certain things, like kimchi, were tricky. In light of that, I love that our kimchi soup became one of our most beloved dishes at the shop.
For our next cooking workshop, we’ll be learning to cook a plant-based Korean menu, featuring our famous kimchi soup.
Many of these dishes were taught to me by my umma, or are variations on dishes she makes.
Space is limited to 8 people! (12 people is too many for the cooking workshops.)
Again, feel free to BYOB. (Few people take us up on this, perhaps we need to push it to a dinner thing?)
First come, first served.
*Note: Unfortunately, we can’t refund cancellations, but we will do our best to give you a slot at the next available demo, space permitting.
