Another People Place is coming to Civic House — a new night from the Coorie Doon gang, shaped by deep roots in sound system culture, expressive freedom, and a love for soulful, diverse music. Taking inspiration from pioneering spaces like Chicago’s Muzic Box, New York’s Loft, and Glasgow’s own DIY traditions, Another People Place is grounded in the fundamentals: a great soundsystem, an open and welcoming atmosphere, and music that connects across generations and genres.

Guided by a deep admiration for Black American musical lineages and the forward-thinking spirit of institutions like Plastic People and Cosmic Slop, this new night at Civic House invites you into a space of freedom, expression and shared energy.
