Time Based: SONIC INTERVENTIONS
Join us at Civic House for two evenings of experimental music, sound art, and international collaboration, featuring world premieres by leading artists from Ukraine and the UK, as part of a wider programme encouraging us to reflect, and connect to the beauty and danger of sounds beyond our control.
First up, a world premiere of a collaboration by a mouthwatering experimental duo — Scottish composer-performer Genevieve Murphy and Ukrainian composer-performer alice haspyd, whose work deconstructs visual and musical influences into minimal noise.
Also premiering is a collaborative piece from Ukrainian pianist Yuriy Seredin and renowned Scottish saxophonist Raymond MacDonald, navigating the edges between improvisation and composition. They’ll be joined by a genre-busting supergroup of top-tier musicians, including Aidan O’Rourke, Signy Jakobsdottir, Una McGlone, Danielle Price, Chris Greive, Robert Henderson, and Diljeet K Bhachu. Visual artworks by MacDonald will also be on display.
