Glasgow Short Film Festival 2022
After an enforced three year hiatus from physical venues due to the pandemic, Glasgow Short Film Festival (GSFF) recently made its long-awaited return to in-person screenings between the 23rd and the 27th March 2022.
The ground floor of Civic House was utilised as a Festival Hub for this 15th edition of GSFF, providing a perfect setting for the programme’s industry and social events – as well as being a convenient alternative venue for a portion of the screenings themselves.
The diner and dance floor aesthetic of the Kitchen encapsulates the smart in the front, party in the back attitude. Equally adept as a formal locale for the Delegates Dinner, as it was for the fun of Ringo Music Bingo, Happy Hour drinks, and even a DJ set from KTAB.
During the pandemic, the Project Space was constructed fully – creating an enclosed, partitioned space between the Kitchen and Venue. GSFF chose to utilise this room by transforming it into a Box Office and Guest Desk away from the surrounding hubbub.
The largest of the ground floor spaces, GSFF were keen to explore the full potential of the Venue. Its well-lit nature provided the perfect backdrop to more talk-oriented listings such as Meet the Festivals and a Panel Discussion, while its blackout blinds were utilised for screenings like Camille & Ulysse, The End, Eco-Spectrality, and For Shorts and Giggles.
