Through photo zine publishing and monthly meetups, FOND PRESS celebrates emerging international photographers with unique perspectives on people and place.
Our monthly meetups in Glasgow feature an interactive kitchen inspired by the work of contemporary artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, whose exhibitions take the form of stages or rooms for sharing meals and coming together.
Fond Press is a project curated by Mark Martin.
Ci Demi was born in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, on July 6th, 1986. He studied Italian Language And Literature at Istanbul University before working for advertising agencies as a copywriter. At 28, Ci discovered visual storytelling and worked as a photojournalist. Eventually, he decided to devote his time to his own stories.
Ci’s work focuses on Istanbul and its various psychogeographies. Adopting documentary as a secondary function, Ci tells stories using the scenes of his city. Coloured with a distinctive palette reminiscent of 70’s Italian Giallo films, his photography takes cues from classic horror movie cinematography—even though almost all of his photographs take place in the daytime.
