Patrick Cole: Diving

Glasgow based artist Patrick Cole presents a new site specific performance; ‘Diving’.

“With all the will in the world,
Diving for dear life,
When we could be diving for pearls”

Diving dissects the mortality of a pearl diver living aboard a submarine, a character who exists within an abstract narrative, drawing upon experiences of depression and anxiety. He explores the perceived threat to notions of masculinity within post-industrial society.

Cole often employs humour to engage with a collective consciousness, creating a cathartic experiences.
This site specific performance will be staged in the Glue Factory’s Tank Room, a space continually permeated by damp and mold.

Diving is the result of a collaboration between Cole and local arts programmer Alex Misick.
