Beautiful Shambles is a visual love letter to Glasgow—its character, humour, history and contradictions. Four Scottish artists come together for one weekend to share what this city means to each of them. Christopher Swan focuses on the overlooked moments of everyday Glasgow, capturing small, idiosyncratic details that make the city vibrant. Nick Smith presents new screenprinted works and a light box exploring Glaswegian slang, transforming familiar patter into bold colour and gallus expression. Nick and Chris also collaborate on a large-scale triptych. Ross Ryan, known for painting Scotland’s coasts, turns his plein air practice toward the Clyde, navigating the city’s post-industrial river landscape from a dinghy. Stewart Swan reimagines Animal Farm in the Glesga schemes, blending sharp humour, grit and social commentary.

The private view is on Friday 28th November, 5 pm to 10 pm (RSVP required). It will feature a five-hour live audio installation by Ti Lumnus, immersing the exhibition in the sound of the city.
