Event in Focus – Coorie Doon
Coorie Doon has become a much-loved constant at Civic House, evolving into one of the most warmly anticipated events in our calendar. Each instalment brings the same infectious energy: a packed-out loft, lovingly decorated, and an air thick with collective positivity and joy that carries the night from beginning to end. With their thoughtful approach to sound, centred around an impeccable hi-fi system, Coorie Doon consistently transforms the building into a space for shared release.
Founded by a group of friends inspired by the spirit of David Mancuso’s legendary Loft parties, Coorie Doon is rooted in ideas of togetherness, warmth and collective experience. Those principles align naturally with the ethos of Civic House, where creativity, openness and community sit at the heart of the building. Drawing inspiration from Glasgow’s rich social and cultural history, the series brings a distinctly local sensibility to a lineage of community-led dancefloors the world over.

The Coorie Doon party team
Over the years, Coorie Doon has helped shape the spirit of the building, consistently bringing a generous, non-commercial approach to the dancefloor and fostering a growing community of friendly faces. With every sold-out party, they continue to prove that there is a real appetite for spaces where the dancers come first.

As ever, demand shows no signs of slowing, and we’re thrilled to continue welcoming the Coorie Doon crew back to Civic House. If the last couple of years are anything to go by, the dancers really do inherit the party, and we can’t wait to see it continue going from strength to strength.
