Agile City Newsletter – January 2025
As we start this new year with vim and purpose, we’re delighted to share news of past and future happenings at Civic House and Glue Factory.
It may still be dark outside but there’s plenty to keep us enthralled! Look out for news of Coorie Doon’s return to the dance, Civic House Party moving into a Saturday slot for February’s outing, and Good Clean Fun DJ workshops. Read on to find out more…
Events Recap:

Civic Street’s shipping container being painted with Abercorn School students’ designs, led by renowned designers Recoat.
INTL Design Festival
INTL Design Festival was a doozy! Kicking off the festival to a packed Royal Concert Hall with inspiring keynote speakers, to workshops in type, graffiti, animation and more, our Glue Factory and Civic House spaces welcomed hundreds of eager design heads for one of Glasgow’s most dynamic and personality-packed festivals.
Keep your eyes peeled for Civic Street’s newly painted Shipping Container, with design co-created by pupils from Abercorn School who designed it, and INTL workshop attendees with Recoat who painted it in the chilliest of conditions!
Civic House Party: Rubadub
Thanks to the always electric Rubadub crew for facilitating the last dance of 2024! Rubadub DJs and special guests Boosterhooch and Klaus soundtracked the night, with Parveen’s serving up their hot take on a cold classic – the Double Nougat (pistachio flavour, of course).
Keep your eyes peeled for Boosterhooch’s Events Research Programme 2025 gig offers, and Klaus plays Germany’s most talked about night time venue – Mark Ernestus’s Open Ground in Wuppertal, in April.

Partick Thistle Charitable Trust
Civic House’s fully decorated Christmas tree was enjoyed in another community setting after we’d closed our doors for the final time before Christmas. It provided sparkle and cheer at Petershill Park, as part of the Christmas lunch that Partick Thistle’s Charitable Trust hosts each year.
Partick Thistle Charitable Trust’s has now helped to feed tens of thousands of children living in the North of Glasgow. It provides a range of inclusive programmes for everyone to be a part of, regardless of background or circumstance. Find our more about their work, alongside ways to donate or help, here.
Glasgow NW Foodbank
Our Coworkers and Studio Holders were fantastically generous in the run up to Christmas, donating hundreds of items on the Glasgow NW Foodbank essentials list to their Christmas collection drive.
We were informed when dropping off items to their Scotstoun HQ, that the start of the year is a much needed and overlooked time, so if you are able to donate, please find information on how to do so here.
Thank you to everyone who created, planned, attended and contributed to all the wonderful activities across Agile City this month.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
