Hello again Agile City Community!
The New Year is well under way, and as the city slowly but surely awakes from hibernation, Agile City has been quite the early riser! The sun is creeping in and there’s lots to cram into these sliiiightly longer days – we’re approaching festival season at Civic House and art is back at Glue Factory. Read on to find out more…
Events Recap:

The Coorie Doon party team
Coorie Doon
Coorie Doon’s 2nd birthday party was an absolute triumph – The event was bouncing, well attended as ever, and giddy as all good shin-digs should be! The team (seen above) smashed it, delivering yet another unforgettable night in our amazing loft space with that unbeatable hi-fi sound system and the warm, welcoming community they’ve become known for.
Their first party of ’25 has set the bar high, and we can’t wait to see what other surprises they have in store for the rest of the year!
Stay tuned via their mailing list for info on upcoming parties as they develop.
Creative Glasgow
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Civic House for Creative Glasgow’s launch event on Wednesday, 5 February! It was an unforgettable evening, filled with inspiring lightning talks and an electrifying energy throughout the venue. We want to extend a special thanks to the fantastic speakers—Stephen Greer, Halina Rifai, Chris Yeoh, Greg Shearer, Freya NicLeòid, Loa Pour Mirza, and Robert Thomas James Mills—for sharing their creative insights with us. We also appreciate our drink sponsors, Panther Milk & Epochal, and the incredible DJ’s Junglehussi & Phil HEALTHY, whose beats kept the atmosphere buzzing all night.
Then, on Thursday, 20 February, we had the pleasure of hosting Creative Glasgow’s first SOUP event. The evening was filled with excitement as four-minute pitches and delicious food from Parveens sparked meaningful connections. A big thank you to Kate Hammer for her hilarious and engaging hosting. Congratulations to Lauren & Fi from Girls Rock Glasgow, who took home the £338.90 prize to support their summer rock school for girls and non-binary kids. We were truly blown away by the talent and passion in the room!
SpringBoard 2025 Watch Party
We were thrilled to join Culture for Climate Scotland’s SPRINGBOARD event alongside co-hosts and neighbours National Theatre of Scotland this month. The event, focusing on climate action and transformational change, brought together individuals and organisations from the cultural sector to reflect on sustainable practices. Highlights included insightful talks from leaders like Rebecca Ford and Amina Shah, performances by poet Ink Asher Hemp, and powerful discussions on radical incrementalism. The event fostered a hopeful atmosphere of collaboration, and reaffirmed to us the vital role of the arts in driving positive change. Special thanks to Parveen’s for the catering!
News & Updates:
Dr. Bike
Civic House members and employees had the opportunity to take part in a Dr Bike session this month, organised by Bike For Good and supported by Cycling Scotland. A mobile bicycle repair and maintenance team braved the elements to provide free safety checks and small repairs for their bikes, helping aid first steps back into the saddle after a long, rusty winter. This initiative is a great way to support sustainable commuting and contribute to employee wellbeing, thanks to the team for the elbow grease!
Plant Based Sarnies
Parveen’s very own Natasha took over the canteen this month for the first instalment of her Plant Based Sarnies lunchtime pop-up. We were treated to an array of winter veg sarnies with a sprinkling of spring, accompanied by pie and “damn fine” filter coffee, diner style! The response was unanimous – a huge hit, and no plates were left dirty. We’re eager for another, thank you Tash!
Thank you to everyone who created, planned, attended and contributed to all the wonderful activities across Agile City this month.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
